Our Team
My work centres on estate planning and estate administration. These are not typically flashy areas of law, but they are deeply human ones. They require the same attention and presence we bring to the people and things that matter most to us.
I was born in rural Alberta and raised in Sherwood Park. I am drawn to work that is deep-rooted and people-focused.
I discovered this through my studies in business (with a focus on small business), education (with a focus on special education), and eventually law (with a focus on rural practice).
I articled in 2015 and became a lawyer in 2016. Before opening my firm in 2023, I experienced a variety of legal settings, from a general law practice in rural Alberta, to a boutique condo and litigation firm in Downtown Edmonton, followed by a boutique wills and estates firm in Edmonton.
I also became a mom through my career journey. Parenthood reshaped my priorities. I wanted a practice grounded in meaningful, down-to-earth legal work. That vision became Cairns Law.
I stay current in estate law by contributing to professional committees and focus groups. I am also pursuing my TEP designation through the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP Canada), a global network for professionals in inheritance and succession planning.
Outside of work, I am with my family and may be baking goodies for school lunches, biking around town, or cheering from the sidelines at my kids’ sports and arts events. Soaking in the pace of this everyday life.

Adrienne is a friendly face at Cairns Law, bringing a quiet patience. Behind the scenes, she helps keep intake and coordination with clients on track. In person, she joins Kendall at signing appointments, meeting our clients with a calm presence. Currently completing her degree at the University of Alberta with a focus in sociology, she also holds a Legal Assistant diploma from MacEwan University. An aspiring lawyer, she’s thoughtfully building her foundation in law from the ground up.
Adrienne is a lifelong dancer and Sherwood Park local, and also volunteers with dance competitions outside of school and work hours.
Allison brings a welcoming presence. A member of the Cairns Law team since the beginning, she attends some appointments alongside Kendall as one of our signing assistants, ensuring your document signing goes smoothly from start to finish.
By day, Allison is an instructor at the University of Alberta with a background as a teacher with Edmonton Public Schools and Elk Island Public Schools, and that comes through in how she works. She has a natural gift for putting people at ease, and clients consistently find her approachable and reassuring at what can sometimes feel like an overwhelming moment signing estate plans.
